Welcome to the Clinic.  We are pleased to help you in any way we can.  We want your experience with us to be enjoyable.  We look forward to meeting you and serving your neurologic needs.

Appointments:

When you call the office for an appointment, we want to see you as soon as possible.  This may be tomorrow or three weeks from now.  However, every situation is assessed by condition of the patient and our workload for similar patients.  There is a cancellation list for any who desire to be seen earlier than scheduled.  Please give us good contact information as this allows us to contact you if anything comes up that may prevent you from being seen as scheduled.

After you call, we verify your insurance coverage and send you a packet of information to be filled out.  Please complete it at your own pace before you arrive so that you and and other patients are not waiting unnecessarily.  Please know your medications and their dosages.  If you need directions please check this site or you may call us.  Please bring your insurance card and driver's license with you when you arrive.  Please note that there may be a $50 fee for appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.

What is an EEG?:

EEG is short for electroencephalography.  It is a diagnostic test used to identify and diagnose seizure activity by documenting brainwaves during sleep.

Preparation for EEG:

Most EEGs are best performed when the patient is sleep-deprived as this brings up the seizure discharges.

Whenever possible try to sleep as little as possible the night before the EEG. Typically patients stay awake until 5:00 AM and then take a nap before the EEG.

What is an EMG?:

EMG is short for electromyography.  It is a diagnostic test used to indentify and diagnose the health of the muscles and the nerves controlling the muscles.  It aids in differentiating between general muscle conditions and muscle conditions that are caused by underlying neurologic disorders.

Preparation for EMG:

Please tell your nurse, technician, or doctor about any blood thinners that you take.

Avoid using any lotions on the day of the EMG and one day before.
